Tap-on, tap-off contactless payments will be enabled across trentbarton’s 400 buses in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire

Following a successful pilot, East Midlands bus company trentbarton will roll out tap-on, tap-off contactless payments across all its services from Sunday, October 6, 2019.

The variable fare mass transit transaction model, powered by Littlepay and supplied in partnership with Ticketer, was first trialled across 11 skylink Derby routes in February this year. Now, the payments system is being adopted by trentbarton’s entire fleet, which includes 400 buses across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

It’s simple: just ‘tap & cap’

Contactless boom

trentbarton’s sister company, Kinchbus, introduced tap-on tap-off payments at the end of July and already 50,000 contactless transactions have been processed, with a quarter of customers opting to pay this way.
