Littlepay, a specialist in transit payments processing, announced today that American Express is now integrated on its global transit payments platform. More than 250 transit operators that use Littlepay, will be able to start accepting American Express, increasing the number of transit systems where American Express Cardmembers can tap to pay for public transit around the world.
Littlepay has a rapidly growing network of transit operators across the UK, Europe, USA, Latin America and Australia. As the American Express integration is now complete, Littlepay merchants can start accepting tap to pay from American Express as soon as their devices become certified.
“Connecting the Littlepay platform to American Express is an important step towards our goal of offering payment choice to public transport riders. Those who always reach for their American Express Card when they tap to pay in retail will be able to do the same when they tap to ride on transit.”
Paul Griffin, Global Head of Commerce at Littlepay
“The American Express network is growing and expanding around the world, and we’re committed to empowering our Cardmembers to use their American Express Cards to Tap and Pay and Go on their daily commute. By collaborating with Littlepay, we give our Cardmembers more places to tap by enabling more transit authorities to accept contactless payments from American Express.”
